Caught Up
There is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.
Various forms of this simple statement pop up every now and again. The thought is neither new nor groundbreaking, but once I get past the corny, if I let this sink in, it is actually quite profound. Instead of chasing after what you think will make you happy, how about you just be happy? How marvelously different lives most of us would lead if we didn't get so easily caught up in the quest for happiness.
It could be that all along, happiness is right by our sides, holding our hands, or holding us up, or sitting in our laps. Right there, ready to be our companion along the way.
