Yes, Light

Metropolitan Museum of Art.  NYC.
4:08 pm.  Saturday.  2012.  7 April.

The pairing of sunbeams and shadows that peers through the glass ceiling of this section of the Met gets me every time.  It's simply stunning.  This room, if I could, I'd live in it.  I would.  In the winter, I'd choose a spot on the floor, right smack in the middle of the room, and let the sun wash over my pale face for hours on end.  In the summer, I'd sit in the very same spot and let the sun warm my tingling fingers and toes, predictably number than usual from the seasonal blasts of a/c.  I suppose I'd continue to let visitors traipse through the glorious space, but only because all that light, something so glamorous and dazzling, it just wouldn't be kind for one person to hide it from the rest.
