Go To There: Rineke Dijkstra

This Dutch photographer's near full-scale beach portraits had me practically floating, so mesmerizing were the expressions in her subjects' eyes. On the second, third, and fifth floor annexes of the Guggenheim, you'll see faces and eyes stare at you in a way that's rare.  I'd do the second and fifth floors again, but probably not the third.  Images of nude women right after giving birth make me want to run the other way.  But her beach portraits, they'll draw you in and hold you tight.  At the Guggenheim through October 8 {+}.
