Jam's On

First, there was a mini shopping spree.  Then, there was a large sheet of puff pastry in the oven.  And then there was a little feast involving raspberry heaven, melting shards of dark organic chocolate made in Madagascar (a gift, of course, because sooner or later everybody learns that I prefer milk over dark, unless of course there are strawberries to be dipped, in which case dark chocolate is perfectly acceptable), and buttery dough.  Sarabeth's raspberry key lime is - hands down - the best raspberry jam I've had.

There's a reason why Sarabeth's replaced Bonne Maman as my favorite jam this past year.  It's just fruit and sugar.  Some of their flavors have lemon or lime juice, but never will you find pectin or weird sugar derivatives in the ingredient list.  In other words, the way jam was meant to be.  If you're in the mood for a treat in the form of a pricey jam, go Sarabeth's.  You won't regret it.

  2. Haven't tried. Melting chocolate and milk on the stove top is the richest and tastiest! Perfect for weather like now.
