En Route to Philadelphia

I've never made a batch of cookies and not tasted one.  (Or two.  Or half a dozen because who's counting?)  Not even a small dab of this marvelous, grittily sugary dough was I allowed to lick if I wanted to stick to the $1.50 challenge.  Harumph.

This dough from last night, in baked form, is now on its merry way to Philadelphia, destined to arrive by Mother's Day.  As I was putting together the care package, I'm ashamed to admit that I tried to calculate how much one cookie cost.  Luckily, the math skills were too lacking by ten in the evening so I wisely chose not to potentially blow an entire meal's budget on a single cookie.  If the butter, semi-sweet chocolate chips, or white chocolate chips didn't, then surely the dried organic cherries would have tipped the per cookie cost well past my daily allowance.

A cookie that costs more than a single meal for some?  That's some food for thought.  Literally.
