Let it be known that dinner on Saturday night was pretty stinking great. Soeur doesn't cook often, but when she does, she usually goes to town.
I was opposed to shisito peppers after one lit my tongue on fire earlier in the week at Boqueria. Their pimientos de padrĂ³n, the blistered shisito peppers with sea salt {+}, were so awesome that Soeur was inspired to replicate their fabulousness at home. This batch didn't have much heat in them so my tongue was safe. That was a close call, y'all. Eggplant was grilled. Branzino was seared and finished off in the oven. Heirloom tomatoes were sliced and tossed with fresh corn and basil and balsamic vinegar. And, of course, plenty of sea salt and fresh cracked pepper rounds.
